Okay, so whoa, wait a minute… where are we?

I am a normal, everyday person who wants to do more about Climate Change. Way more. I believe Climate Change is the defining issue of the future, and I can’t be fully happy living my life as if we all can just plug along and it will fix itself. It won’t. The more of us who have a hand in minimizing its impacts, the more effective we will be. I want my efforts to mitigate Climate Change to match, dare I say honor my degree of concern about it. I owe that to myself, my kids, and this endlessly beautiful planet I love.

But how, what can I do??? Not what can I *do*, but what can *I* do? What can anyone do? How does the normal, everyday person make any difference in a global problem as historically underpinned and deeply entrenched as this one? This is the conundrum I have battled with for literally years (in some ways, maybe much of my adult life). That’s what I want my writing, speaking, communicating to be about. I want to offer a world of full, rich entry points into the challenge to us all that is Climate Change. I believe the first challenge is to start really thinking about it, which is what we are going to do here. I want to invite people to make this issue their own, to learn how to grapple with its challenging realities, and to start down a path of being empowered to be a changer, rather than, well, whatever it is we feel like we are instead—by-standers.
